Hire A Hubby is Australia’s largest handyman business and it is our goal to provide customers from homes, offices and factories with a complete handyman service. We encourage our customers to provide feedback on their experiences with our handyman team.
Our home maintenance team are spread all across Australia. All of our handymen are individual businessmen and are police checked, Work Health Safety Certified, have public liability insurance and carry photo ID to provide you with security and peace of mind.
Whilst Hire A Hubby is renowned for the small jobs, we are also very proficient with bigger projects, the types that tradesmen don’t turn up to do. Kitchen and bathroom renovations, pergola and decking work are all jobs you can call a Hubby for (subject to licensing requirements).
The founder of the business was doing some handy work in his lounge room when his wife’s friend quipped, Gee he’s handy, can I hire your hubby.
After a period trading as the first Hire A Hubby, the franchise concept was born in 1996, before current owner and CEO Brendan Green took over the business in 1997.
In September we opened our first office, located in New South Wales and in that same year we signed up our first ‘Hubby’.
In April 2001 we opened our Victoria Office.
The following year saw our stamp on Queensland’s map with our QLD Office opening in July 2002.
By January 2003 we had tipped over the 100th Hubby mark.
In 2006 we came together for our first Annual National Hire A Hubby Conference, located in Cammeray Waters, VIC.
Skip forward 2 years and Hire A Hubby went global with our business heading overseas.
This was the year we signed up our 301st Franchise Location in Australia! We continued our National Conferences having been to some incredible locations like Fiji, the Gold Coast and Cairns, we took our Hubbies to Darwin in 2011, Bali in 2012 and Melbourne in 2013.
In April 2013 Hire A Hubby Franchisees committed to donating $1 from every invoice to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) to get a ‘Man Van’, mobile information and awareness initiative, on the road.
2015 saw our entire Hubby network met up in August for our Annual National Conference in Uluru where we presented the first ‘Man Van’.
As of February 2016, we’re pleased to announce that Hire A Hubby raised $48,203 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Our Man Van has been out and about travelling serious kms to drive awareness of men’s health.
Hire A Hubby was awarded the Excellence In Marketing Award by the Franchise Council of Australia.
Hire A Hubby was Awarded National Established Franchisor Winner 2018/19 at the Franchise Council of Australia’s National Excellence in Franchising Awards.

– Dan Blacklow of Hire A Hubby Prahran & Hire A Hubby South Yarra won the VIC / TAS Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year award.
2018 marked our 5th year in partnership with The Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia. Our Hubbies have raised a total of $312,529 during this time.
2020 marked our 7th year in partnership with The Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia. Our Hubbies have raised a whopping total of $500,000 during this time.
